Yes, I have experience taking 6MP. I am not taking it right now, but I did get back on it after a long spell of not doing well about 5 years ago. It seemed to help. It is a hard drug to tell if it is working because it takes a while to kick in...maybe a month or two. Unlike our good friend prednisone, which you know you have taken it within minutes, and are feeling better within the hour.

I remember reading that it could be toxic to the liver and they made me take liver tests on a semi-regular basis. There was also a test where they could find the level of the drug in your body and adjust it accordingly.

Matt...totally agree with you that the hardest part of dealing with crohns is finding a doctor that you can really trust. This is especially more difficult because in most cases it develops when you are too young to know wether a doctor is good or not and you just kind of have to trust your parents. Anyways, I saw you mention in the post about 6MP...do you have any experience with this drug? You seem to mention it in a sort of negative tone. I have been taking it for about 4 years, starting after a really bad flare in which i actually had part of my colon removed. It seems to have been working well so far, I am definitely in the best health I have been in since I discovered I had crohns. However, if you have any other information on 6mp, either through experience or what you have come to learn about it, I would like to know what you think. Even though it has worked thus far, I always wonder if there is anything better, or if any side effect may come up in the future.
